How to Crochet the Two Color Easy Afghan Crochet Pattern
Instructions
This pattern works up in an interesting striped pattern lengthwise by making rows of alternating colors. It self edges.

Ch 101 in MC

Sc in 2nd ch, ch 1, skip 1, *sc, ch 1, skip 1* repeat ** to last 2 stitches sc in last 2 stitches. Change colors, ch 1

Sc in 1st sc,*ch 1, sc in ch 1 space*, repeat ** to last 2 stitches sc in last 2 stitches. Change colors.

Repeat row 3 to desired width ending with MC.

I did 2 rows of hdc on each end, leaving the long edges self-edged by the pattern.

are you tying off after each color change?

Hi Christina, I would guess that this pattern does involve tying off after each color change. It doesn't look like the tails are being carried along the back, and it would take double the yarn to carry the tails through. I hope that helps!

I'm afraid I cannot work this out. It looks very effective but how does it "self edge". If each row is a different colour then you will end up with all the tails on one side to work in at the end.

Hi there, I believe this means the pattern produces a nice edge but you do still need to weave in the ends. In other words, you don't have to crochet an additional border all around the afghan. I hope that helps!

Mine is not perfect but i think instruction 4 should read Repeat row 3 to desired width ending with MC. But i could be wrong

Wow the afghan in the pictures sure doesn't look like what I have thought it should with the stitch pattern. The afghan pictured looks like it has had a stitch done over the green not made while crocheting the stitches. Am I wrong? Has anyone made this one and does it turn out like pictured? I did a swatch and can't figure it out, but like the stitch pattern that the written pattern gives. I am wondering what I'm doing wrong? Thank you and I'll be looking to see what comes of this one.
