Adjusted cooktime for my 2.two lb roast; used only 1/2 pack of onion soup mix. Added beef consomme instead of h2o. Cooked 45 minutes on high, released pressure, added potatoes (quartered), one/2 onion sliced & quartered and half dozen carrots (peeled and sliced in 2" logs); besides added 1/2 can of craven broth I had left over from tiffin. Cooked on high for an boosted ten minutes. Not bad! Could accept done 9 minutes on the vegetables in my Cuisinart PC; they were soft - but not mushy. Will make again and might effort a variation of this recipe adding a can of cream soup. Note: My husband said I should have cooked the roast a little longer in my Cuisinart PC and so I will add about 10 more mintues adjacent fourth dimension before adding the vegetables. It could have been a picayune more than tender.

I know this is a weird review to post, but I remade this recipe with turkey instead of chuck roast because it'due south leaner. I browned and pressure level cooked it, but simply for thirty minutes since it's a smaller cut of meat. Information technology turned out incredible. My 3 lb rump roast was slightly frozen and then it took long fourth dimension to get pressure level so I over cooked information technology some but information technology was very yummy. The carrots which are my favorite were amazingly good. I did add 1 package of chocolate-brown gravy mix (dissolved in h2o)when I added veggies and omitted the flour gravy pace. My husband loved it. Based on instructions for my pressure cooker I cooked for 45 minutes and even that was a bit too long. Added carrots and mushrooms. Gravy was especially adept.

I would give this a 5 for flavour but the meat seemed a trivial over cooked so I would cut the time, maybe ten-twenty minutes. My rump roast was merely 2 lbs instead of iii so I cutting the fourth dimension to 1 hour to brainstorm with anyways. I but used one onion soup pack because that sounds like a lot of onion, I didn't add together any raw onion and I added about fifteen babe carrots. Very good flavor. This recipe is sensational. Made as directed. I used 2 ounces of ( 5 Star ) Onion Soup Mix on this web site. If you accept a pressure cooker and enjoy tender, delicious Pot Roast this recipe is a must. No more stringy, tough roast for me. I did remove the roast from the cooker later searing and deglazed the bottom with a fiddling water before proceeding. You too can make a tough cut of meat into a fork-tender, first-class flavored roast.and gravy. I'll be making this recipe over and over. Thank yous for sharing such a wonderful recipe.

Amazing! I cooked the meat on superlative of onions, used a can of Beefy Mushroom soup and tin can of water. My roast was ii.5 lbs so using elec pressure cooker on loftier pressure for fifty mins and then quick released pressue, added qtr'd potatoes and infant carrots at high force per unit area 15 more than mins! Awesome!! Served with biscuits to sop upward the cracking gravy!! Grandchildren could not stop complimenting me! SCORE!!

I used an electrical pressure level cooker and changed the cook time on high pressure to 1hr with a two.5lb. chuck roast and added 2 sprigs of thyme before cooking. I as well added carrots for the additional 10 min of cooking which I regret, and so mushy. Only potatoes and whole onions turned out perfect! Gravy was really good but made a lot.

Very tasty and easy to make, all the same the meat was over cooked. I used a 3.25 lb. rump roast. The side by side time I will reduce the cooking fourth dimension for the beef to maybe only 45 - lx minutes. Pressure cookers vary and I think an hour and a half is besides long for my Instant Pot. I added carrots, along with the potatoes and onions and cooked for the time recommended in the recipe and the veggies turned out great. Quick, like shooting fish in a barrel gravy.

This is a winner. made twice so far. Adjusted the cook fourth dimension for a more tender roast (+5 minutes at low temperature). I'thousand not ordinarily a fan of pressure cooked veggies, simply those who like more tender vegetables actually went for these. Will exist added to the regular routine.

Great, Keen and Keen.. Recipe was easy to make (directions were easy to follow) and tastes wonderful. Kids liked information technology too. I fabricated the recipe with a rump roast. Followed recipe except used 1 1/2 packets of onion soup mix instead of ii. Cooked for one 60 minutes and 45 minutes and was tender. This is now my become- to recipe for rump roasts .

I made this but changed a few things. I added 14.5 oz of breef broth and but every bit much cherry wine instead of the water. I lightly sauteed the onions, earlier adding. Over all it was very skillful. I cooked in my Pressure cooker for xl minutes for a 3 lb chuck roast. I think I could have added some other 10-fifteen for the meat. I added the carrots, potatoes, and celery. Very good!

I made this in my Instant Pot. Made a few modifications. I don't like potatoes cooking with my roast and then I omitted that from the recipe. I likewise used 1 cup beef broth and two cups water. Followed the recipe and added two sliced onions per the directions. YUMMY. Food coma.

I haven't done much in a pressure level cooker except canning and vegetables, stews etc and was a bit agape to take something more expesive similar a roast of beef, but I am extremely grateful for this recipe! I volition never cook another roast whatever other way!! This was extremely tender and fabricated the best gravy I have ever fabricated. Turned out astonishing, I used chuck roast / butter instead of veg shortening. And simply used one onion (because it looked like a lot in my pot) only it was seriously not enough. Then apply 3 and follow the recipe because it was incredible.

I did non take the onion soup, instead added a one-half orange bell pepper and some dried herbs in the outset. Instead of the shortening I used vegetable oil. Used yukon gold potatoes, my family loved them. I used the remaining flour to thicken the gravy. A great meal for a winter nighttime.

I have made this recipe several a times and information technology has NEVER failed me. I added carrots,celery, and 1 bullion cube. I also used ii regular onion soup mix packets, and one bulky onion flavored soup mix. It turned out great! I take an 8 quart pressure level cooker, and I had 6 pounds of roast and lots of veggies!i highly recommend this recipe.

Since we are a modest family, my roast was a trivial over a pound. I merely cooked it for half an 60 minutes in my pressure cooker. Instead of just h2o, I substituted ane cup of information technology for organic mushroom soup. I also added raw chopped garlic , rosemary, & a couple of bay leaves for flavor. I added blood-red potatoes, red onions, & babe carrots after it cooked for half an hour & cooked it for an boosted x minutes. So I turned it off & added raw broccoli & placed the lid back on information technology & let information technology sit for 10 minutes to cook the broccoli. It was delicious, I ate it like soup & my daughter put it on corn tortillas dressed with cilantro, raw onion, & Mexican cheese.

Great recipe, cooking times were perfect except for the very stop... took decidedly longer for the gravy to thicken upwards merely gravy tin be like that. I did accept a lot of juice so that was probably why. Thanks!

Very good pot roast recipe. Simple to make and gives you good results. I did feel that it needed more veggies like carrots, celery, etc., and that it could stand up some other seasonings. Regardless, a very proficient recipe.

I followed the recipe, and information technology turned out smashing. My guests loved it. The only affair I will do differently next time, is I'll leave the onions in bigger chunks, they broke down a little too far. As well, I didn't allow enough fourth dimension for bringing the pot to a eddy, I live at high altitude and underestimated that part. I'll make this again soon.

I used a 3lb 4oz boneless rump roast and three cups h2o in my six quart instant pot. Along with the potatoes and onion I also added some celery and carrots for boosted flavor and colour. Since I added some extra water, I also bumped up the flour to 1/iii loving cup and used my own steak and roast seasonings. i ane/2 hours was perfect, any longer and it would have fallen apart trying to option it upward.

I didn't have the soup mix so I seasoned roast with garlic, pepper, and common salt, and used only a half of a cut upwards onion in with the roast... it was wonderful! This was excellent. I added 1/4 cup of merlot, one tsp. Worcestershire, and sprinkled all with Montreal steak spice prior to cooking but due to other suggestions. Timing could accept been a few minutes less (ii-3) every bit carrots and potatoes were a bit soft.

Now I am keeping my fingers crossed because I didn't quite follow every recipe step! When I released the last pressure, the wonderful delicious odor filled the room with a lot of steam and I knew it was a winner! OMG I cannot believe I made something that was this flavorful, moist and overall satisfying that I could non consume it fast enough while savoring every melt in your rima oris gentle bite! Thank you lot so much for sharing this amazing and elementary enough for a guy recipe. And by the way my pot roast was 5 lbs and two hours was PERFECT! This is my all time favorite beefiness recipe! Hands down beats my filet mignon which was my old favorite.

This is a wonderful recipe for roast. When I opened the force per unit area cooker to add the vegetables the meat was falling autonomously. When I added the potatoes and onions, I added more water and carrots and celery with them. Was a not bad dinner and fifty-fifty my picky iv and ix yr. olds ate every bite.

Extremely tender, great flavour! Added in carrots and would accept perhaps let veggies go a couple minutes longer. Also used fairly fatty blade roast which detracted but the recipe itself worked out great!

This was the start recipe I made in my new Cosori Pressure level Cooker - it was delicious! My roast was a petty over 2# so I cooked it on high for 45 min. then added potatoes, baby carrots & an onion & cooked on low for 9 min. I used a can of cream of mushroom soup & about 1 1/ii cups beef broth; removed the meat & veggies from the pot & made the gravy on the soup setting. I couldn't believe how tender the meat was. I volition definitely make this again.

This was crawly. I used iii cups of beef broth for the water. I cooked my three lb rump roast for 2 hours equally directed and made a roux to add to the finished broth. I also added 3 sticks of chopped celery. It turned out fantastically!! My bride was very skeptical but this won her over as the best roast she has ever had.

Great season and very tender… a fantastic keeper. Only changes were butter instead of shortening, unsalted beef broth instead of water, and added can of drained mushrooms. Oh aye, and chuck roast instead of rump.

I used this recipe on a caribou shank roast. Normally we would cut that upwardly for canned meat or burger but I wanted to try one in a pressure cooker. I didn't take any onion soup mix so used Spade L beef seasoning. I also added carrots to the veggies. Information technology came out peachy. Fork tender. Not bad for ane of the toughest cuts of meat on a caribou.
